Strength.
Creativity.
Compassion.

Where difficult endings become better beginnings.
At Sexton Law, we know that family law is never just about the law. It's about your children, your home, your sense of self, and the life you're working toward on the other side of one of the hardest seasons you'll ever face.

We also know this from the inside. Our firm is led by an attorney who has lived it: navigating divorce and the ongoing journey of co-parenting a child. That experience isn't a footnote. It shapes the way we listen, the way we counsel, and the way we fight for you. When you sit across from us and tell us what you're going through, we genuinely understand.

What sets Sexton Law apart is the belief that how you get through this matters just as much as where you end up. Conflict for its own sake helps no one, least of all your family. We work to find smart, creative paths to resolution that protect what you care about most, without prolonging the pain any longer than necessary. And when the situation calls for fierce advocacy, we don't hesitate.

We've seen firsthand that divorce doesn't have to define you. Handled with the right guidance, it can be a turning point — the moment you stopped settling and started building something better.

That's what we're here to help you do.
Our Team.
At Sexton Law, we believe exceptional representation starts with truly understanding the person behind the case.

Family law is personal, and so are we. Our firm is led by an attorney who has navigated divorce and co-parenting firsthand, which means we bring more than legal knowledge to your matter. We bring genuine understanding of what you're facing, what's at stake, and what it takes to come out stronger on the other side.

We take the time to listen to your story, learn what matters most to you, and build a strategy that reflects your unique goals, not a one-size-fits-all approach. Every client who walks through our door deserves honest counsel, creative thinking, and an advocate who will stand firmly in their corner from the first conversation to the final resolution.

Your case is more than a file to us. Your family, your peace of mind, and your future drive everything we do.

Divorce
Having experienced divorce firsthand, Ashley understands the weight of navigating a process few ever expect to face. She is familiar with the complexities of co-parenting and the difficult transitions that follow. That perspective informs her work, allowing her to connect with clients on a human level, while guiding them with clarity, strategy, and a focus on achieving positive, forward-looking resolutions.

Going through a divorce or family law matter is one of the hardest things a person can face. The stakes are deeply personal: your children, your finances, your home--your future. You need an attorney who truly understands that, and who has both the skill and the heart to fight for what matters most to you.

That's what I bring to every case.

I've built my practice on a simple, yet uncommon, combination: genuine empathy and relentless dedication. I take the time to really hear you. Not just the facts of your case, but your lived history, what you value, what you're afraid of, and what you need your life to look like when this is over. Then I get to work building a strategy designed around you, not a generic playbook.

I believe the best outcomes in family law come from creative thinking, not just fueling conflict. I work hard to find solutions that protect your interests and preserve what matters, whether that's a thoughtful settlement that saves you time, money, and heartache, or vigorous advocacy in the courtroom when that's what your situation demands. I'm not afraid to challenge the status quo, and I never stop looking for the angle that gives you an edge.

When your children's futures are part of the picture, everything I do is guided by their well-being. My background includes work alongside attorneys in dependency, neglect, and abuse cases, giving me a deep understanding of child development, trauma, and attachment research that most family law attorneys simply don't have. That knowledge makes me a sharper, more grounded advocate for your family.

What my clients tell me, over and over, is that they felt genuinely cared for and genuinely represented. That's not an accident. I chose this area of law because I believe people deserve an advocate who treats their family like it matters. Because it does.

If you're facing a divorce, custody dispute, or other family law matter and you want an attorney who will listen carefully, think creatively, and stand firmly in your corner,
I'd love to talk.

“Advocating for children is not simply part of my work as a family law attorney—it is my calling and my privilege to protect the most innocent members of our community.” — Ashley Sexton
Community Involvement
My work as a family law attorney is built around one core belief: children deserve to be protected. I see every day how stability, education, and community shape what a child's life looks like — not just now, but for decades to come.
That belief is not isolated to just the courtroom.

Children of God Academy
I serve as Executive Board Secretary for Children of God Academy, a nonprofit organization dedicated to improving the lives of children through education, mentorship, and community support.

CGA works to ensure that children facing difficult circumstances have access to real learning opportunities, positive role models, and the resources they need to build something better for themselves, in spite of the cards life seems to have dealt them through no fault of their own. The organization's programs focus on academic instruction, character development, and the kind of compassionate, consistent community that changes the trajectory of a child's life that are lacking in situations where there is neglect or abuse in the child's initial home.

This work is personal to me. Children are the most vulnerable members of our community. They don't choose the families they're born into, the instability they inherit, or the systems they have to navigate, and even the strongest child is not equipped to get themselves out alone. The children I advocate for in court are often the same children who need what CGA provides most: a consistent presence outside the legal system, someone who shows up not because they have to, but because they believe that child is worth showing up for. Every child is worth showing up for, espcially those who have been neglected and abused and need it most.

Why This Matters to Me
Every dissolution, every custody case, every protective order I handle involves children whose futures are being shaped in real time. When those children have access to education, encouragement, and strong support systems outside the home, they are better equipped to not just survive hard seasons — but to thrive beyond them.

Supporting Children of God Academy is one of the ways I put that belief into action.
